The Large Group was founded in 2002 by Michael Hurst, Jennifer Ward-Lealand and Christian Penny to bring to the stage works that can best be described as "epic" - that is, works that are powerful, intense, beyond the usual or ordinary in size and scope, vivid, challenging, thought provoking - works that make us speculate about our own destiny.

Above all, The Large Group seeks to bring new audiences to theatre by presenting high-octane works of excellence that are uncompromising, visceral and humane.
